Festival "Deti Nochi: Chorna Rada": since 1999!
The festival "Deti Nochi: Chorna Rada" is
the oldest festival of gothic/industrial scene in ex-USSR, the
one, which managed to gather ultimatively big number of visitors
from the beginning, in the end of 90-ties. That's why it is labeled
as "biggest gothic/dark event of ex-USSR" and "dark
slavic gathering".
History of the festival goes to 1999 when it was first originally
planned and realized with around 2000 of fans visiting the event
and first goth / industrial bands playing there.
In USSR "gothic" or related issues were prohibitet,
so there was no scene at all. After the breakdown of Soviet Union
in 1989 the gothic / industrial scene of Eastern Europe developed
tremendously . In early 1999 it became possible to organize first
events for some thousands of audience. Unfortunately, each national
independent scene (e.g. Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Baltic States)
developed isolated, but the demand grown for one common event
gathering all together. Thus, in 1999-2000 the Chorna Rada 1 was
made attracting attention of the whole region.
What does "Deti Nochi: Chorna Rada" mean? The first name of the festival, "Deti Nochi" is translated in english "Children
of the night". "Deti Nochi" was originally used in 1999 and identifies
and talks for itself. "Chorna Rada" is translated from slavic languages as
"dark gathering", "dark council" and is famous
for its historcal interpretations.
The place for festival, Kiev-city
is also a rightest choice, because Kiev is historically acknowledged
as "cradle" of such slavic nations as ukrainians, russians
or belorussians.
Nowadays, "Chorna Rada: children of the night" is established the
central slavic gothic / dark / electro event, that presents annualy
the best bands from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and rest of Eastern
Europe in Kiev. The place to come for lovers of gothic, industrial,
cyber and dark romance from different neighboring countries of
region, who visit the festival.
The Deti Nochi: Chorna Rada 6 festival will take place on 12.09.2009 in Kiew, at club "Bingo". Around 13 bands and 10 dj's take part in the event this year. We will publish final line-up and poster of 2009 here soon.

visitors of "Children of the Night: Chorna Rada" (2006) exceeds
1200. At the festival there were many guests from different
cities and towns of Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia, from Poland,
Germany, Czechia, Japan, USA and other countries. So the festival
confirms its status of the biggest gothic-fest in Ukraine and
CIS.

Shooting of the documentary of the festival "Children of the Night:
Chorna Rada III"
Shooting
of the documentary of the festival "Children of the Night:
Chorna Rada III" is being planned by the band BLOOD JEWEL
(USA). Some musicians of the music bands and some famous people
of the gothic scene will take part in the shooting. This documentary
will be a part of the more extensive project - a movie titled
"History of the Global Goths", which is meant to depict gothic
cultures and gothic music "through the world". While by means
of the intellectual irony, audio and visual grotesque the movie
is meant to show various sides and phenomena of our world, such
as sexuality, global capitalism, destructions and explosions,
social violence, public repression and consequences of the civil
conflicts. On the foreground of the movie - necessity to cognize
the roles of those who fulfil the functions of violence, as well
as those, who suffer from its consequences.

One
of the most famous Russian gothic - rock bands THE GUESTS
will play in Kiev at the annual gothic festival "Children
of the Night III".
The
appearance of THE GUESTS at our festival has been officially
confirmed.
By the present moment, traditionally there are presented the most
interesting musical projects from Ukraine, RussiaandByelorussia.
Thus, year in, year out the festival confirms its status as "the
main Slavic gothic/industrial/dark event", for which many
goths and admirers of the dark romance come from all the corners
of the former USSR, present day CIS countries and Eastern Europe.

Russian band's participation in the festival "Children of the
Night: 2006"
The festival "Children of the night" confirms the status of "the
central Slavic gothic/industrial/dark event" and many Goths
and fans of dark romance come from CIS and East Europe??. Some
interesting musical projects from Russia, Byelorussia are presented
on the festival this year. There is a vacant place for a band
from Russia and you may send your applications. After confirmation

For
the first time in Ukraine and CIS! One of the most interesting
project of the European gothic/industrial scene - SEVERE ILLUSION
(EBM / industrial / electro) will play in Kiev during the biggest
Ukrainian gothic-festival "Children of the Night 2006".
SEVERE ILLUSION's participation is officially confirmed.
European
scene is being represented by the following projects at the moment:
CHARLOTTE'S SHADOW (Spain, gothic rock), SEVERE
ILLUSION(Sweden, EBM / industrial / electro),
KREUZER
(France-Izrael, martial / experimental / power noise). In the list
of participants there are also a Japanese band PHANTASMAGORIA
(Japan, visual kei / j-rock / japan gothic) and two projects
from Byelorussia: Prophetic Dream (Minsk, cyber-gothic-electro)

Two
more DJs will play oat the festival. DJ Evilly
(Kiev, gothic / electro / EBM) and DJ Prowler
(Kiev, Catacomb Kittens project, gothic / industrial / experimental/
J-rock) have been confirmed as a participants. DJ Evilly is one
of the greatest and quickly getting popularity DJs. Also she had
been invited to play at Castle Party 2006. More information is

Japanese visual key / j-rock / japan gothic group PHANTASMAGORIA
has been confirmed as a participant in the festival
For
the first time in Ukraine, ex-USSR and CIS! Japanese band PHANTASMAGORIA
will play in Kiev on the biggest Ukrainian gothic-festival "Children
of the Night 2006". PHANTASMAGORIA's participation is officially
confirmed.
Performance became possible due to the active participation of
visitors in survey which was kept by Ukrainian
Gothic Portal (http://www.gothic.com.ua/ukrrus/vote).
Organizers hope, that the band will be supported by Ukrainian,
Russian and Byelorussian fans. In a case of high attendance gothic.com.ua
will organize performances of other Japanese and international
projects.

the Night 2" went on sale in Kiev. You can get the tickets at

Two
more young but already well - known Ukrainian bands will appear
at the festival: THE SHADOW OF THE SUN (Kiev, gothic folk
metal / folk rock) and YANKA KOZYR'S ORCHESTRA (Kiev, shock

Thus, at the festival Ukraine will be represented by 14 bands.
The total number of the bands expected is coming closer to 20.

27 - 28, at 01:30 a.m. on one of the most popular Ukrainian
TV channels "TET"
It
will be re-broadcasted at 3:00, 5:00 and 6:15 a.m.
in the programme "Hit TV". This time in the programme "Hit
TV" they will show an interview with Vitaliy "stranger"
Fedun (editor-in-chief of gothic.com.ua) as well as a short
documentary about the gothic subculture in Ukraine. The latter
will tell you about the development of the Ukrainian gothic scene
and the first Ukrainian gothic festival "Children of the Night
1" (incl. the rare promotional video). You will also get to
know the reasons of the five years break, information on the release
of the CD the "Ukrainian Gothic vol.2", news on the festival
"Children of the Night 2" and then some more.

"Children of the Night 2" on the radio. "Radio
Rocks" becomes a partner of the festival
"Radio Rocks" has officially
joined the team of the media supporters of the festival "Children
of the Night" (www.deti-nochi.kiev.ua)
Today,
on the 26th of August 2005, "Radio Rocks" will broadcast
the first promotional announcement of the festival. The announcement
will be broadcasted at 19:02, 20:02 and 20:50 and
then daily until the first day of the festival. The
leader of the cult Ukrainian gothic band KOMU
VNYZ, Andrej Sereda was chosen as a "voice" of the festival.
The musician has already recorded the official promotional announcement
of the event. This tradition was started five years ago, in 2000
- that time the promotional trailer was recorded by Andrej as
well.
